As promised, here are the instructions for using Hotmail.

I suggest that you PRINT this now, so that you have it
in you hands as you go through the processes until you're comfortable with the steps. And I also suggest that you read it through first before doing the step-by-step.. All the best.

USING HOTMAIL

Hotmail is your "Homepage", so at any time that you are on the Internet, you
can return to your Hotmail sign-in page by clicking of the "Home Page" icon at the top of your screen.

To sign in, type in your hotmail name, then move the pointer to the password box, click once, and type in your password. Then click on the "enter" button and you will taken into Hotmail.

If you have new messages, you will automatically be taken to the "In-Box" screen, with a list of messages and will have the list showing the names of the senders, which will be underlined.. If there are no NEW messages, you will see a page headlined "Centerpoint", which will say that you have no NEW messages in your inbox. From :"Centerpoint", however. you can go into your inbox to re-read previously received messages or to do other e-mail functions.

At the left side of the screen(s), (both In-Box and Centerpoint), you will see a list of areas within Hotmail. These will be: Inbox, Compose, Addresses, Folders and Logout.

By clicking on any of these choices, you can go to the appropriate area. For example, if you go to "Compose", you will then be given a blank e-mail to write. At this screen, you can either type in the recipient's name from your memory, or you can click on "Quicklist" (at the right side of the message area) and then be taken to a list of all of your e-mail correspondents. When the quicklist is seen, you just click on the little "To" box at the laft of the person's name (or several of the names, if you wish to send the same e-mail to multiple recipients). There are three little check-boxes next to each person's name...The one at the left is the "To" box - if you're sending them an original copt of e-mail....The little box in the middle is the "CC" box, if you wish to send that person a "carbon copy" of the original. And the third check-box is called "BCC" which means that you are sending them a "blind carbon copy" of the original, but the intended recipient does not know that you are sending a copy to the third party. If this is confusing, don't be concerned, because most people NEVER send "CC" or "BCC" for personal e-mails.

After selecting the recipients from the Quick List, scroll to the bottom and click on "Mail To", and you'll go back to the compose screen with the recipients' names already inserted. Type your e-mail in the message area, and, when finished, click on "Send" and it will be sent. If you want to keep a copy, click on the little "Save Outgoing Message" box just above the message area.

Clicking on the "addresses" line will take you to your address list. If you want to create a new recipient, click on "Create" at the upper right side of your address list and then enter the called-for information in the respective boxes. If you wish to change some of the information you already have, click on the "Edit" icon to the right of the person's name....if you wish to delete a person's name, click on "Delete" at the right of the person's name.

Clicking on the "Folders" line will take you to a list of the folders you have. If you wish to create a new folder, click on "Create" at the upper right of your list and it will ask you to type in a name for the new folder.. Give the new folder a name and then after typing the new folder's name, click "OK".

You can move e-mails from one folder to the other by opening each folder and then by clicking each selected e-mail...then scrolling to the bottom, where you will see a line that says "Move To................." with a down-pointing arrow (click it) and then select which folder you wish to put the e-mails into.

Clicking on the "Log Out" button takes you out of Hotmail. Another way to leave Hotmail is to click on the "sign Out" button at the top right of the screen.
