Editing Pictures In to Give A Panorama View

Looking through you view finder, designate the direction in which to link the pictures to make a panorama. Like left to right. Take a shot. Keeping the camera level, shift the camera to the right so that the left edge of the shot you just took overlaps the left of the frame. Take a shot. Repeat shots as needed. Open the Images in your favorite Imaging Software. For this tutorial we will be useing Paint Shop Pro.

As an example I will use two images I took at the clubs picnic. They came out of the camera 1600x1200 pixels in size ( that's 22 inches by 16 inches ), so I reduced them down to 200x150 pixels for this tutorial.

To join the two pictures, first Choose File > New. A New Image dialog box opens. Inter a new canvas size big enough to recieve both images. My image size was 450x160. Select the left image by clicking on it's Header. Go to edit and choose copy. Next select the canvas and go to edit and choose paste as new layer. The image below shows the new canvas with left image pasted in the new canvas.

The next image shows the right image pasted into the canvas and moved over to join the left image. You have to line up the right image over the left image to match the subject.

To get the final image choose layers > Merge > Merge All. You can use the clone tool to touch up the joined edges. Here, I had to use the clone tool to smooth out the grass where the two images joined. The final image was cropped and saved as giving the file a new name. Wallah, a panoramic view!!!
